It was revealed in this shocking unespected? tweet by Stella Moris, the Australian activist’s partner.

Stella Moris does not reveal the content of the pope’s message, but she does express gratitude for the support of Catholics and Christians,

She also says the chaplain at the prison in Belmarsh delivered the message on Palm Sunday.

The United States accuses the founder of WikiLeaks of having revealed classified information and is seeking to extradite and process him. But for now, the British justice system hasn’t conceded.

It all started in 2010, when Assange published over 250,000 diplomatic documents, many of them “confidential.”

It isn’t the first time the pope writes to public figures who are in prison.
