They asked the pope to bless these religious objects.<\/p>\n<p>Francis gave the ambassador the important texts of his pontificate.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>He also gave rosaries to the rest of the delegation, as well a medal commemorating the eighth anniversary of his pontificate.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><em>-Thank you for accompanying the ambassador today.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>-Now accompany him on his mission that begins today.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>-I carry your country in my heart!<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>-I pray for your country!\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>He then invited them to pray together in French.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>-Hail Mary full of grace, the Lord is with you\u2026<\/p>\n<p>After the audience, Francis and the new ambassador met privately to discuss matters of common interest. in particular the current situation in Haiti.
