The Portuguese president's visit is a tradition, as the Holy See was the first country to recognize Portugal\u2019s independence.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The president gifted the pope a book about collaboration on restoring the country's religious heritage.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>It\u2019s a small gift\u2026<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u2026but it\u2019s from the heart. <\/em><\/p>\n<p>The pope in exchange gave him his message from this year's World Day of Peace and the significant texts of his pontificate, as well as this year\u2019s commemorative medal.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The ninth year of the pontificate begins the day after tomorrow.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The pope is scheduled to visit Portugal in the summer of 2023 to participate in the next World Youth Day, which will be held in Lisbon.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>JMB<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>12 de marzo de 2021.
