That's the message Caritas Rome and the Italian Red Cross want to convey with the opening of this center providing essential aid to the most vulnerable. They don't see homeless people; they just see people.<\/p>\n<p><strong>BENONI AMBARUS<br \/>\n<\/strong>Director, Caritas Rome<br \/>\n<em>\u201cFor us it's a promotion of dignity, in the sense that I acknowledge that you also have the same needs for care and attention during this pandemic, as in any other case. You're a person like any other.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Italian Red Cross provides health services at this center, which can house about 60 people at a time.<\/p>\n<p>They call it a transitional structure because from here, guests move on to different Caritas centers according to their specific needs.<\/p>\n<p>The center also provides Covid-19 tests and respects health safety measures.<\/p>\n<p><strong>FRANCESCO ROCCA<br \/>\n<\/strong>National President of Italian Red Cross<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cWe give people living in conditions of extreme vulnerability a certainty that they can find a place where they are welcome. FLASH Once they're checked in, if they test negative for Covid-19, they're sent to other centers.
