The Christmas tree to adorn St. Peter's Square is finally here. It's from the southeastern region of Slovenia.<\/p>\n
It weighs seven tons and is 75 years old. It was planted right after the end of WWII. <\/p>\n
JAKOB \u0160TUNF The spruce tree is 30 meters tall, a number chosen to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the independence referendum held in the Republic of Slovenia.<\/p>\n JAKOB \u0160TUNF Jakob \u0160tunf, has been the Slovenian ambassador to the Holy See since 2019, when he presented his credentials to Pope Francis.<\/p>\n The inaugural lighting of the tree will take place on Friday, Dec. 11.
