It's from the southeastern region of Slovenia.<\/p>\n<p>It weighs seven tons and is 75 years old. It was planted right after the end of WWII.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>JAKOB \u0160TUNF<br \/>\n<\/strong>Slovenian Ambassador to the Holy See<br \/>\n<em>\u201cAfter the war, hope for a peaceful world, a peaceful and fraternal life, began to grow.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The spruce tree is 30 meters tall, a number chosen to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the independence referendum held in the Republic of Slovenia.<\/p>\n<p><strong>JAKOB \u0160TUNF<br \/>\n<\/strong>Slovenian Ambassador to the Holy See<br \/>\n<em>\u201cThis is a very beautiful opportunity for Slovenia, and we're very proud to be able to present the Christmas tree for the second time. As I said, it's a symbolic act with which we begin these celebrations, remembering also 30 years of our country's history.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Jakob \u0160tunf, has been the Slovenian ambassador to the Holy See since 2019, when he presented his credentials to Pope Francis.<\/p>\n<p>The inaugural lighting of the tree will take place on Friday, Dec. 11.
