The latest technology allows anyone with a computer to analyze Raphael's brushstrokes, as if from only a few inches away from the actual work of art.<\/p>\n
The Italian company \u201cHaltadefinizione\u201d has published on its website this high-definition picture of the \u201cMiracle of the Two Hanged Men,\u201d one of Raphael's first works.<\/p>\n
The Renaissance master worked on it around the year 1500.<\/p>\n
The original is in Pisa. It's small and was part of an altarpiece about St. Nicholas of Tolentino, which was destroyed in an earthquake.<\/p>\n
The parts that were salvaged were divided into smaller works, like these two on display in Detroit.<\/p>\n
In Italy, there are other representations of this scene. It's the story of two young people unfairly accused of murder. During their execution, they invoke the help of the saint and are miraculously saved.<\/p>\n
Today, thanks to the miracles of technology, the details of Raphael's piece can be appreciated, perhaps even more than if standing in front of the original itself.<\/p>\n
On the website are other very interesting works of art, all in high definition. There is Leonardo da Vinci's \u201cLast Supper,\u201d Caravaggio's \u201cSupper at Emmaus\u201d and Canaletto's Venetian landscape paintings.<\/p>\n
