The Vatican has named 12 new people who are one step closer to sainthood. They include some from Italy, France and North America. <\/p>\n
One from the U.S. is the founder of the Knights of Columbus, Fr. Michael McGivney. He has had a miracle attributed to him and can be beatified in the upcoming months. Fr. McGivney was devoted to living a \u201cfaith in action\u201d helping others along the way. Now, there are almost two million Knights of Columbus worldwide, following the founding principles. <\/p>\n
Then there's French Blessed Charles de Foucauld, who has had a miracle attributed to him to move ahead with his canonization. He was a hermit who lived in Algeria and was assassinated Dec. 1, 1916. Pope Benedict XVI beatified him on Nov. 13, 2005. <\/p>\n
Finally, the there's Pauline-Marie Jaricot, the founder of the Society for the Propagation of the Faith and the Living Rosary Association. She was born in Lyon, France, where her remains lie. An initial miracle has been attributed to her so she can be beatified. <\/p>\n
