He was vicar general of the archdiocese of Milan, at the time headed by Cardinal Carlo Maria Martini.<\/p>\n<p>He traveled to different churches in Africa and Latin America, offering support and encouragement to missionary priests there.<\/p>\n<p>In November 2016, Pope Francis made Renato Corti a cardinal.<\/p>\n<p>After his death, the College of Cardinals is left with 222 members, 122 of them eligible to vote in a conclave.<\/p>\n<p>CT<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>May 12, 2020.
