The synod's final document says deacons should \u201cpromote integral ecology, human development, social pastoral work and service to those in situations of vulnerability and poverty.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The pope prays that deacons may be \u201cfaithful in their service to the Word and the poor,\u201d and \u201can invigorating symbol for the entire Church.<\/p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>May 5, 2020.
