Threats of the coronavirus circulating throughout Italy are not deterring tourists from coming to the Vatican. Yet, whether from the United States, Luxembourg or Peru, pilgrims are taking certain precautions while traveling, like masks and hand sanitizer. <\/p>\n
This couple from the United States participated in the General Audience with the pope, who they say, didn't seem too concerned about the virus.<\/p>\n
NICOLE AND TYSON<\/strong> Gabriella says the coronavirus couldn't stop her and her granddaughter from traveling to the Vatican, a trip that had already been arranged.<\/p>\n GABRIELLA<\/strong> This group from Peru similarly was traveling around Europe. On their 15-day tour, they have traveled to Germany, France, Austria and Holland. They say they are not canceling any plans before they head back to South America on March 3. <\/p>\n MARIO<\/strong> TYSON<\/strong> While panic is spreading, it's important to remember the virus' death rate is around 2 percent.
