He began by reminding those present of the importance of listening without prejudice.<\/p>\n<p><strong>POPE FRANCIS<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>\u201cListening to situations, listening to problems. Listening with the mind, with the heart, to judge them correctly. Listening openly, without prejudice.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>He explained the importance of letting oneself be struck by reality instead of being blinded by personal biases and filters, which he said can create dangerous ideologies.<\/p>\n<p><strong>POPE FRANCIS<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>\u201cToday for example, in Europe, we're experiencing the prejudice of populism. Countries are closing themselves and turning to ideologies. They aren't just new ideologies. There are also old ideologies like those that caused World War II. Why?
