This is the extravagant pinetree placed in St. Peter's Square this year.<\/p>\n<p>It was brought from northern Italy, specifically, from Vicenza. It is about 85 feet tall.<\/p>\n<p><strong>HUGO<\/strong><br \/>\nTourist<br \/>\n<em>\u201cIt's truly incredible. This is my first time here, and it is very beautiful. It's very striking and expressive, and it commemorates something important to all of us.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Forty pinetrees will be planted in the forest from where this tree was taken to make up for the severe damages caused by the storms in 2018.<\/p>\n<p>Next to the impressive tree, a Nativity scene will be set up. It will be made of wood recovered from the intense storm that hit the Trentino region.<\/p>\n<p>The Nativity scene and the tree are both placed in St. Peter's Square to remember Jesus' birth, for many, the happiest time of year.<\/p>\n<p><strong>ANA<\/strong><br \/>\nTourist<br \/>\n<em>\u201cI have grandkids, and I was tired of putting up the big tree. So I switched to a small one, but now I've gone back to having a big one. I set up the Nativity scene. I have some beautiful Spanish figurines, and each year I add more to show my my grandkids. It's history.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Starting the evening of Dec. 5, this Christmas tree will be lit up with thousands of lights.
