The verdict was announced in March and in June Pell filed his appeal.<\/p>\n<p>The Vatican imposed restrictive measures on the cardinal. Until his innocence is clarified, he is forbidden to celebrate Mass in public; and must also avoid any contact with minors.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, along with the civil process in Australia, a canonical process has also been launched. If convicted in this trial, he could even be expelled from the College of Cardinals or the priesthood.&nbsp;<\/p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>August 19th, 2019.
