As a consequence, he can no longer participate in an eventual conclave due to age limit.<\/p>\n<p>He was president of the Irish Catholic Bishops' Conference, one of the nations most 'hit' by scandals of sexual abuse perpetrated by priests.<\/p>\n<p>He is currently Archbishop emeritus of Armagh in Ireland and the only cardinal in his country. He was elected to this position by Benedict XVI in 2007.<\/p>\n<p>Until Aug. 2019, there will only be 118 voters for another conclave in the College of Cardinals. A number less than the maximum of 120 stipulated in the Constitution Romano Pontifici Eligendo.<\/p>\n<p>During the remainder of 2019, four of the 118 voters will also turn 80.
