{"id":47733,"date":"2019-08-14T15:30:00","date_gmt":"2019-08-14T13:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www1.romereports.com\/2019\/08\/14\/organization-tries-to-preserve-the-youth-in-the-church-and-arab-christians-in-middle-east\/"},"modified":"2019-08-14T15:30:00","modified_gmt":"2019-08-14T13:30:00","slug":"organization-tries-to-preserve-the-youth-in-the-church-and-arab-christians-in-middle-east","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.romereports.com\/en\/2019\/08\/14\/organization-tries-to-preserve-the-youth-in-the-church-and-arab-christians-in-middle-east\/","title":{"rendered":"Organization tries to preserve the youth in the Church and Arab Christians in Middle East"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cCaritas in Veritate\u201d is a confederation of Catholic institutions working together to help serve the poorest of the poor, through charity and evangelization.<\/p>\n<p>The organization was officially founded in 2010, in response to Pope Benedict XVI's encyclical \u201cDeus Caritas Est.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>One of their recent projects is \u201cGlobal Initiatives 2033.\u201d Its aim is to raise five million missionary disciples by 2033, the second Millennium of redemption.<\/p>\n<p>According to Henry Cappello, president and executive director of \u201cCaritas in Veritate\u201d, young people are falling away from the Church and often caught up in lifestyles that doesn't make them happy.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong> HENRY CAPPELLO<br \/>\nPresident, Caritas in Veritate - CiV Global Federation<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>\u201cInstead, as Pope Francis says 'we wait for the young people to come. We need to go and reach them.' We need to go where they are and clearly emphasize the personal encounter with Jesus Christ. Without the personal encounter with Jesus we can talk about many programs but it will be a failure.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>This project comes in response to Pope Francis recent Apostolic Exhortation \u201cChristus Vivit\u201d It was his address to young people about their place within the Church.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Another group \u201cCaritas in Veritate\u201d also seeks to help persevere are the Arab Christians in the Middle East. \u201cThe House of Mercy and Peace project,\u201d hosts and adopts across the world those internally displaced due to wars, including Christian refugees.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>HENRY CAPPELLO<br \/>\nPresident, Caritas in Veritate - CiV Global Federation<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>\u201cIt is to reestablish themselves as Arab Christians in the Middle East. Without these Arab Christians in the Middle East it will lose a lot not only as a Church, but also the whole region. It will be a big lost. This is because of  the culture and what they have contributed, as Christians, over the centuries.
