Pope Francis says society cannot decide \u201cWho is worthy to live or who is not,\u201d and that \u201cDoctors should serve life, not take it away.\u201d<\/p>\n

Although he doesn't mention him directly, he was referring to Vincent Lambert. This Frenchman has been in a vegetative state for the last 11 years, after an accident.<\/p>\n
Despite his parents struggle to keep him alive, the doctors and his wife decided last week to turn off the machines, that provide food and water for him.<\/p>\n
The pope asks to pray \u201cfor the sick who are abandoned and left to die.\u201d He continues saying that \u201cA society is human if it protects life, every life, from its beginning to its natural end, without choosing who is worthy to live or who is not.\u201d<\/p>\n
It's not the first time Pope Francis has asked people to help Vincent Lambert. <\/p>\n
