It will be the 29th of his pontificate, going to Bulgaria and Macedonia. He will depart on Sunday, May 5 and will return on Tuesday, May 7.<\/p>\n<p>He will arrive in Bulgaria at 9 a.m. local time. After meeting with the civil authorities, he will pray before the Throne of Saints Cyril and Methodius in the Patriarchal Cathedral of St. Alexander Nevsky.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, he will visit a refugee camp and pray for peace along with leaders of the different Bulgarian religious confessions.<\/p>\n<p>Tuesday begins the second stage of the trip: Northern Macedonia. It is like Bulgaria, with a majority of Orthodox, but unlike the neighboring country with a high percentage of Muslims.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>While there, Pope Francis will pray before the Mother Teresa Memorial and preside over an ecumenical and inter-religious encounter. He is set to leave Northern Macedonia at 6:30 p.m. to return to Rome.<\/p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>May 4th, 2019.
