{"id":48281,"date":"2019-03-05T16:00:00","date_gmt":"2019-03-05T15:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www1.romereports.com\/2019\/03\/05\/popes-march-intention-pray-for-persecuted-christians\/"},"modified":"2019-03-05T16:00:00","modified_gmt":"2019-03-05T15:00:00","slug":"popes-march-intention-pray-for-persecuted-christians","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.romereports.com\/en\/2019\/03\/05\/popes-march-intention-pray-for-persecuted-christians\/","title":{"rendered":"Pope's March intention: pray for persecuted Christians"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As usual, Pope Francis has sent out his monthly intention video. <strong>For March, he asks Christians to pray for the \u201crecognition of the rights of Christian Communities.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>He says there are \u201cmore martyrs today than in the first centuries.\u201dAccording to ACN more than 245 million Christians are strongly persecuted throughout the world.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The pope says Christians are persecuted because they \u201cspeak the truth and proclaim Jesus Christ\u201d to society.\u201d In this year alone, it began with killing of 23 people, during a Mass at the Cathedral of Jolo in the Philippines.<\/p>\n<p>Pope Francis also notes in the video that the rights of Christians are too undermined in countries which \u201cin theory and on paper, they protect freedom and human rights.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>He asks people to especially pray for those persecuted Christian Communities so they feel \u201cclose to Christ and have their rights respected.\u201d<\/strong><\/p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>March 5, 2019.
