All of them participated in a congress organized by the dicastery of Integral Human Development directed by Cardinal Turkson.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThe title of our conference was Drugs and Addictions: an Obstacle to Integral Human Development.\u201d <\/em><\/p>\n<p>The congress covered the issue of addictions from an holistic point of view. When speaking of the drug problem, the pope spoke harshly.<\/p>\n<p><strong>POPE FRANCIS <\/strong><br \/>\n<em>\u201cIt is the duty and responsibility of governments to bravely confront this fight against the death traffickers. Death traffickers: we must not be afraid to call them that.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Pope Francis also stated that the Church must respond to new dependencies arising because of the internet.
