It was the second time he had met the pope. <\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThis time we are meeting in Rome.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>During the 30-minute meeting they discussed issues such as the <strong>upcoming international climate summit in Katowice<\/strong>, the reception of <strong>emigrants <\/strong>and the promotion of the <strong>family<\/strong>. In <strong>Poland<\/strong>, the government pays each family 120 euros for every child, starting with the second. <\/p>\n<p>The president gave him this picture of<strong> Divine Mercy <\/strong>and a basket of typical products from his country. <\/p>\n<p>The pope gave him a medallion with the third arm of St. Peter's colonnade, which was never built. <\/p>\n<p>They also spoke about how to deal with the crisis of the European Union, and the president told him that <em>\u201cwe have to return to the founding values.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This is why, before leaving, the pope told him this. <\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThank you for what you do for Europe.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>He asked him also to send his regards to the prime minister. <\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cGive my regards to Mrs. Beata.\u201d <\/em><\/p>\n<p>The president invited the pope to return to Poland next year, for the 100 years of relations between the two countries.
