The pope also remembered the suffering  these countries experienced during both Nazi and Soviet occupation.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Apart from the 80 percent of Catholics in Lithuania, the pope visited countries with a mixture of Orthodox, Lutheran, Catholic and non-believers.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The pope observing the suffering and lost of faith these countries have experienced, in recent history, stressed the importance of greater communion through the spirit of ecumenism.&nbsp;<\/p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>September 26, 2018.
