The group included bishops from Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Iceland and Norway.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Holy Father discussed their mission in the region with them, and they updated him on the work being carried out in their respective countries.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The bishops presented the pope with this gilded carving of Jesus on the cross.<\/p>\n<p>Pope Francis then blessed a tray of special items from the region before writing the bishops a heartfelt message on a group portrait.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Sweden has the largest Catholic population in Scandinavia, with nearly 150,000 faithful.&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>June 7, 2018.
