Pope Francis in his homily at Casa Santa Marta spoke about chosing to follow Christ by faith and to remember the wonderful things He has done in each person's life. <\/p>\n
POPE FRANCIS<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cWe will find so many great things that Jesus has freely given us, because He loves each one of us. Once I have seen the things Jesus has done for me, I can ask the second question: \u2018What should I do for Jesus?\u2019 With these two questions, perhaps we can purify our faith of any self-interest.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n He continued saying that this way of thinking should instill a desire to change. It's \u201cthe road to conversion by love,\u201d he says, since God has given each person so much love, everyone should give Him their love.<\/p>\n SUMMARY OF PAPAL HOMILY \u201cHe followed Jesus without weighing the consequences: \u2018this works for me; that doesn\u2019t\u2019\u2026 He was not self-interested. He loved. So he followed Jesus sure in his faith. They laid a trap of slander, and they led him into it. So he was stoned to death, giving witness to Jesus.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWe will find so many great things that Jesus has freely given us, because he loves each one of us. Once I have considered the things Jesus has done for me, I can ask the second question: \u2018What should I do for Jesus?\u2019 With these two questions, perhaps we can purify our faith of any self-interest. When I see all that Jesus has given me, my heart generously says: \u2018Yes, Lord, I shall give all. I won\u2019t make these mistakes and commit these sins again. I\u2019ll change my life in this way\u2026\u2019 [This is] the road to conversion by love: \u2018You\u2019ve given me so much love, so I shall give you my love\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThis is a good test to see how we follow Jesus: \u2018Am I self-interested or not?\u2019\u2026 \u2018What has Jesus done for me in my life out of love?\u2019 And seeing this, \u2018what should I do for Jesus?\u2019 \u2018How do I respond to his love?\u2019 That\u2019s how we can purify our faith from all self-interest.
