The 90-year-old pope emeritus is visibly weak, and the latest to raise the voice of alarm is his own brother, Georg.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In an interview with German magazine Neue Post, he assures Benedict suffers from a paralyzing illness that requires him \u201cto use a wheelchair.\u201d Georg says what worries him most \u201cis that the paralysis could spread to his heart,\u201d because \u201cthen, everything could end quickly.\u201d He says he prays God will allow his brother \u201cthe grace of a good death, in a good moment\u201d and hopes to be in Rome on April 16 to, like every year, celebrate his brother's birthday. Although, he admits \u201cit's still some time away\u201d and that \u201cwho knows what will happen in that period.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, according to French agency i.media, the pope emeritus' \u201centourage\u201d says those claims are baseless. Benedict has mobility issues, but no neurological illness.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This is not the first time Georg Ratzinger has sounded the alarm \u2013 following his brother's election as pope, Georg said he seemed too old and ill to perform his duties.&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>February 15, 2018.
