Many from the Mapuche community were also there.<\/p>\n<p>It was a celebration dedicated to the 'progress of the peoples' in which the pope asked for a greater respect for the indigenous communities and the environment. He wants others to appreciate their unique characteristics and acknowledge the value they have in society.
