The rest, who themselves are no rookies of transatlantic travel, simply decided to take advantage of an opportunity to see more of the continent. Their spontaneous selection led them to Rome.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cWe went to Luxembourg to do nationality, and Italy is close to all of Europe, so it's interesting.\u201d <\/em><\/p>\n<p>Once Heins' father had completed the citizenship process for him and his two sons in Luxembourg \u2013 to which the family has ancestral ties \u2013 the group ventured to the Eternal City. While they said Rome's \u201cculture, history and churches\u201d would've been engaging enough, the bunch was shocked when they were able to gain entry to see the Holy Father himself.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cIt was very surprising that we could see the pope because we were not expecting it. We're very grateful.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>In a few days, the family will return to their homeland along with the sunny weather they seemingly brought. First, though, they'll explore as much of Rome as possible, carrying the joy inspired by Pope Francis.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>January 14, 2018.
