More than 1,000 candidates have submitted movies, but there are only 12 titles vying for the<strong> \u201cSilver Fish,\u201d<\/strong> a sculpture that recalls the first <strong>Christian symbol<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Among the nominees for best film are \u201cSaint Bridget of Sweden,\u201d from American director Fabio Carini; \u201cFatima, the Last Mystery,\u201d from Spaniard Andr\u00e9s Garrig\u00f3; and \u201cIgnatius of Loyola: Soldier, Sinner, Saint,\u201d from Philippine Paolo Dy.<\/p>\n<p>For best director, the nominees are: Pablo Moreno, for his film \u201cLight of Loneliness;\u201d David Naglieri for \u201cThe Face of Mercy;\u201d and Samuel Sebastian for \u201cThe Long Night of Imagination.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>LIANA MARABINI<br \/>\nPresident, Mirabile Dictu Festival<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>\u201cI love the Catholic Church, and I don't like to see it mistreated. That's why I've decided to showcase the beautiful part of the Church, which is much larger than the small part of negative things or those that bother us. I think movies are a great evangelization tool, and that's why I now dedicate myself \u2013 whether as a producer or organizer of this festival \u2013 to give space and create a platform for Catholic films.\u201d <\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Liana Marabini, the president of the festival<\/strong>, believes Catholic cinema is a good tool for <strong>talking about God<\/strong>, and that even a single conversion makes initiatives like this one worthwhile.<\/p>\n<p><strong>LIANA MARABINI<br \/>\nPresident, Mirabile Dictu Festival<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>\u201cIf a movie transforms even one soul, it means we have reached our goal.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The festival doesn't end here.
