The idea was to exchange impressions about how the universities must act in response to the crisis.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>POPE FRANCIS<br \/>\n<\/strong><em>\u201cAn essential aspect of the training (that you all give) points to the social responsibility of constructing a more just and human world.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The pope proposed very<strong> concrete measures<\/strong> for this crisis to the universities.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>First, that \u201cthey study the remote causes of forced migration, and that they look for solutions that guarantee the right to not have to migrate.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He also asked them to investigate why people react in a \u201cdiscriminatory and xenophobic\u201d way \u201ctoward the reception of immigrants\u201d and that they propose \u201cmeans of awareness training.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Pope Francis wants universities to help \u201cvalue immigrants' contribution to society\u201d and that they look for creative ways to<strong> give university training<\/strong> to these people, such as online courses for refugee centers or recognizing academic degrees obtained in refugees' countries.<\/p>\n<p>Today, there are<strong> 65 million people <\/strong>who are either displaced or in refuge.
