Pope Francis canonized M\u00edguez along with 34 other new saints on October 15.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>XOS\u00c9 L. FOXO<br \/>\nDirector, Royal Bagpipe Band of Ourense (Spain)<br \/>\n<\/strong><em>\u201cIt is very satisfying for us to bring our intangible culture, to bring the spirit of Galician music here to St. Peter\u2019s Square in Rome. It is now the fifth time the Royal Bagpipe Band has come with our music. We dedicated a mu\u00f1eira to Pope John Paul II, we dedicated a composition to Pope Benedict XVI, and now we dedicate another mu\u00f1eira to Pope Francis.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The <strong>energetic sounds of the bagpipes, drums and tambourines<\/strong> didn\u2019t go unnoticed on their way through the Eternal City. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Their music hasn\u2019t only made its way to <strong>the Eternal City. <\/strong>The band has performed at <strong>Castel Gandolfo<\/strong> and also during papal visits to<strong> Santiago de Compostela<\/strong>. They have also played in St. Petersburg, Glasgow, China, throughout Latin America, and even in the traditional St. Patrick\u2019s Day Parade in New York.&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>October 29, 2017.
