The International Catholic Film Festival 'Mirabile Dictu' announced last week the movies shortlisted fir its top award, the Silver Fish.<\/p>\n
\tAmong the nominees is the French production 'The Apostle.\u00e2?\u009d It tells the story of a Muslim called to be an imam, who finds Christ. The American production 'The Letters,' a biopic on the life of Mother Teresa, is also in running.<\/p>\n
\tSpanish film 'A Forbidden God,' is among the favorites in the competition, known as the Catholic 'Oscars.'<\/p>\n

\n\t'There's another beautiful film, very beautiful film that is called 'Un Dios Prohibido'. Wonderful film. It is also in final competition for best film and best leading actor.\u00e2?\u009d<\/p>\n
\tSet in the early days of the Spanish Civil War, it tells the martyrdom of 51 religious, most of them seminarians.
\n\tOrganizers believe that the Mirabile Dictu Film Festival, now in its fifth edition, gets more quality and recognition every year.<\/p>\n

\n\t'This year's edition is about maturity... We have to take a stand for quality, and we hope to do it right. The movies nominated in this edition should also give a push to the kind of cinema that we want to promote.\u00e2?\u009d<\/p>\n
\tOverall, more than 1,600 movies from 120 countries sent in entries in the competition.<\/p>\n
\tOn June 26 the jury will announce which one gets the prized and characteristic award of the festival, the Silver Fish.<\/p>\n
