In the year 2012, it designated September 5 as the International Day of Charity, in her honor.  \t&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>UN wanted the International Day of Charity to mark the anniversary of her death and the legacy she left behind.  \t&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In his message for this year's celebration, the General Secretary of United Nations, Ban Ki-moon, highlighted the example of Mother Teresa, whose good works for the poorest and most vulnerable has been an enormous inspiration.  \t&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Each International Day of Charity, the UN wants to encourage individuals, governments and NGOs worldwide to help those in need.  \t&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>September 5, 2014.
