With the help of an interpreter, they spoke in French. During their brief meeting they talked about inter-religious dialogue, human rights and religious freedom. They also discussed the role the Church plays in the fields of health and education in the country. ;<\/p>\n
As a gift, the president gave the Pope a silver colored dove that symbolizes peace. In turn, the Pope gave him an engraved medallion. ;<\/p>\n
Even though the Pope needed some help at first with a translator, by the end of the meeting, he seemed pretty comfortable speaking on his own.<\/p>\n
As he usually does with his guests, the Pope asked him to pray for him. ;<\/p>\n
