Making sure the Vatican Curia is at the service of the Universal Church is one of the issues \u00a0Cardinals addressed on Friday morning, during a closed door meeting.\u00a0<\/p>\n
About 165 Cardinals are taking part in the two day Consistory to look at what reforms the Curia needs to improve efficiency and to decentralize the Vatican bureaucracy.<\/p>\n

Vatican finances took center stage during Friday's meeting. The reforms include full transparency and accountability in all departments. To highlight this point, the heads of the Secretariat for the Economy, the Council for the Economy and the IOR, also known as the Vatican Bank, addressed the College of Cardinals.\u00a0<\/p>\n
It's actually the first time so many Cardinals took part in such a detailed meeting on Vatican finances.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n'As a whole, they looked at how it's set up, what system it works under, how many meetings they've held so far and the discussions that have been addressed within the departments. \u00e2?\u009d\u00a0<\/p>\n
The Consistory includes two daily sessions. It started Thursday morning and it will end on Friday afternoon. According to the Vatican's Spokesperson, the Pope opens the meetings, but doesn't interject. He mostly listens to the College of Cardinals and its concerns.\u00a0<\/p>\n
