FEDERICO LOMBARDI<br \/>\nVatican's Spokesperson<br \/>\n'The relationship among the Curia, local churches and episcopal conferences was looked at. This is key, because ultimately the reforms are aimed at how to better serve the Universal Church.\u00e2?\u009d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Vatican finances took center stage during Friday's meeting. The reforms include full transparency and accountability in all departments. To highlight this point, the heads of the Secretariat for the Economy, the Council for the Economy and the IOR, also known as the Vatican Bank, addressed the College of Cardinals.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It's actually the first time so many Cardinals took part in such a detailed meeting on Vatican finances.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>FR. FEDERICO LOMBARDI<br \/>\nVatican's Spokesperson<br \/>\n'As a whole, they looked at how it's set up, what system it works under, how many meetings they've held so far and the discussions that have been addressed within the departments. \u00e2?\u009d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Consistory includes two daily sessions. It started Thursday morning and it will end on Friday afternoon. According to the Vatican's Spokesperson, the Pope opens the meetings, but doesn't interject.
