In his homily at Casa Santa Marta, Pope Francis discussed forgiveness. He said that God always forgives, but that he also asks us to be forgiving.<\/p>\n

'Asking forgiveness is another thing: it\u00e2??s not the same as simply saying, \u00e2??excuse me.\u00e2?? Did I make a mistake? \u00e2??Sorry, I made a mistake. But, \u00e2??I have sinned!\u00e2?? \u00e2?? that is different: the one has nothing to do with the other. Sin is not a simple mistake. Sin is idolatry: it is to worship the idol, the idol of pride, vanity, money, \u00e2??my self\u00e2??, my own \u00e2??well-being\u00e2??. So many idols do we have: and for this, Azariah does not apologize: he asks forgiveness.\u00e2?\u009d<\/p>\n
