It's music that calls for prayer.<\/p>\n<p>The hymn, which is in Latin, starts with the words 'merciful like the father.\u00e2?\u009d It's inspired by the Gospel and references the Jubilee's official motto.<\/p>\n<p>The first three verses of the song are about the Holy Trinity. The first highlights the wisdom with which God the Father created the world. The second is a song of praise to God the Son, and the third invokes the seven holy gifts of the Holy Spirit.<\/p>\n<p>The hymn ends with a call for peace and hope for the coming of the new heaven and the new earth.<\/p>\n<p>The composer Paul Inwood and the Jesuit Eugenio Costa wrote the hymn.
