To overcome indifference and win peace. This is the theme the Pope chose for the 49th World Day of Peace. ;<\/p>\n
It takes place every year on January 1st. Even though it's still months away, the Vatican's Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace is already highlighting this message on an international level. ;The best way to fight indifference, it states, is by developing a strong conscience and by not ignoring the challenging realities faced in different parts of the world. ;<\/p>\n
Among those social challenges, there's massive religious persecution and human right violations. ;<\/p>\n
The World Day of Peace was initiated by Pope Paul VI, to start off every new year. ;<\/p>\n
