Merciful God, ;
\nwe pray to you for all the men, women and children ;
\nwho have died after leaving their homelands in search of a better life. ;
\nThough many of their graves bear no name, ;
\nto you each one is known, loved and cherished. ;
\nMay we never forget them, but honour their sacrifice ;
\nwith deeds more than words. ;<\/p>\n
We entrust to you all those who have made this journey, ;
\nenduring fear, uncertainty and humiliation, ;
\nin order to reach a place of safety and hope. ;
\nJust as you never abandoned your Son ;
\nas he was brought to a safe place by Mary and Joseph, ;
\nso now be close to these, your sons and daughters, ;
\nthrough our tenderness and protection. ;
\nIn caring for them may we seek a world ;
\nwhere none are forced to leave their home ;
