Pope Francis held a meeting on May 12, 2016, inside of Paul VI hall with the Plenary Assembly of Superiors General; there he accepted to 'set up an official commission that would study the issue\u00e2?\u009d of the Diaconate women, 'especially with regard to the early days of the Church.\u00e2?\u009d<\/p>\n
According to the Vatican, 'after intense prayer and reflection\u00e2?\u009d, the Pope has decided to establish a Commission for the Study of the Diaconate of Women, appointing as president archbishop Luis Ladaria Ferrer, who is the Secretary of Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith.<\/p>\n
He has also named the following as members of the commission:<\/p>\n
