{"id":57269,"date":"2016-10-06T14:30:45","date_gmt":"2016-10-06T12:30:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www1.romereports.com\/2016\/10\/06\/the-favorites-for-the-nobel-peace-prize-2\/"},"modified":"2016-10-06T14:30:45","modified_gmt":"2016-10-06T12:30:45","slug":"the-favorites-for-the-nobel-peace-prize-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.romereports.com\/en\/2016\/10\/06\/the-favorites-for-the-nobel-peace-prize-2\/","title":{"rendered":"The favorites for the Nobel Peace Prize"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Friday, October 7 at 11:00 a.m., the winner of one of the most recognized awards, the Nobel Peace Prize, will be announced from Norway.<\/p>\n<p>Once again this year, many of the candidates are heroes from the refugee crisis or wars in the Middle East.<\/p>\n<p>Among other popular choices are Russian defender of human rights, Svetlana Gannushkina, and the White Helmets, Syrian civil defense volunteers dedicated to rescuing lives from the rubble after a bomb.<\/p>\n<p>Another favorite is Nadia Murad, the Yazidi who escaped from slavery from the Islamic State.<\/p>\n<p>There are three Latin Americans who are considered highly eligible: the president of Colombia, Juan Manuel Santos, together with the leader of the FARC, Timochenko; and Pope Francis.<\/p>\n<p>Although the Argentine pontiff is among the candidates, he is not a favorite. This week he was asked who he thinks deserves the Nobel Peace Prize.<\/p>\n<p>POPE FRANCIS<br \/>\n'I hope that at international level, setting aside the Nobel Peace Prize, there will be acknowledgement or a declaration on children, on the disabled, on minors, on civilians who have died from the bombing.'<\/p>\n<p>In 2015, the winner of the Nobel Peace Prize was the Tunisian National Dialogue Quartet, for the work they did in their country promoting dialogue and helping to build a pluralistic political system.<\/p>\n<p>JRB\/MB<br \/>\nRR<br \/>\n-<br \/>\n-PR<br \/>\nup:<br \/>\n#Pope Francis<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>October 6, 2016.
