He thus opens the process for choosing a successor.<\/p>\n<p>He clarifies that 'he does not renounce his mission as a father' and that he will continue 'at the disposal of each and every one, knowing he's constituted by God as the model and living guardian of this charism.'<\/p>\n<p>Brazilian 77-year-old, Jo\u00ed\u00a3o Scognamiglio Cl\u00e1 Dias founded the clerical society of apostolic life 'Virgo Flos Carmeli' and the private association of faithful 'Heralds of the Gospel,' well known for their characteristic habit. They claim that they are in almost 70 countries and have more than 4,000 members.<\/p>\n<p>Vaticanist Andrea Tornielli explains in the 'Vatican Insider\u00e2?\u009d that the resignation of the superior could have to do with the Vatican opening an investigation of the<br \/>\n\t\tinstitute.<\/p>\n<p>The Holy See wants to clarify if within this organization there is an exaggerated devotion to its founders and<br \/>\n\tits hitherto<br \/>\n\tsuperior, since it appears they were invoked for some prayers and even during alleged exorcisms.<\/p>\n<p>If the investigation is confirmed, his resignation will probably make clarifying the situation much easier.<\/p>\n<p>\tUPDATE:<br \/>\n\tAs of today, June 16, 2017, the Vatican has not yet opened any investigation.<\/p>\n<p>\tUPDATE 2 by Rome Bureau of Tradition Family Property (TFP):<br \/>\n\tPlinio Corr\u00ed\u00aaa de Oliveira, 'Brazilian thinker and<br \/>\n\t\tman of action gave rise to a reality that was entirely different from that of the Heralds of the Gospel.\u00e2?\u009d<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\u00a0<br \/>\n\t\t'Although a provisional judicial ruling in Brazil has given them legal possession of the TFP there and in some other countries, the Heralds of the Gospel do not continue the thought, practices, and action that characterized Prof. Plinio Corr\u00ed\u00aaa de Oliveira, the moral founder of this vast spiritual family.
