{"id":62866,"date":"2023-11-23T15:18:59","date_gmt":"2023-11-23T14:18:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.romereports.com\/?p=62866"},"modified":"2023-11-23T15:31:05","modified_gmt":"2023-11-23T14:31:05","slug":"pope-francis-attends-vatican-screening-of-documentary-on-war-in-ukraine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.romereports.com\/en\/2023\/11\/23\/pope-francis-attends-vatican-screening-of-documentary-on-war-in-ukraine\/","title":{"rendered":"Pope Francis attends Vatican screening of documentary on war in Ukraine"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>In a hall full of international guests, including Diplomatic Corps members and the Ukrainian Ambassador to the Holy See, Pope Francis attended a screening of the documentary \u201cFreedom on Fire: Ukraine's fight for freedom.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The documentary\u2014that illustrates the realities of the war and the resilience of the Ukrainian people\u2014was filmed almost immediately after Russia's invasion of the country in February of 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following the screening, the Pope held a moment of silent prayer for victims of the war and encouraged the audience to stand up for those who are suffering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>POPE FRANCIS<br><\/strong><em>We who have seen the cruelty towards these people defending their identity, who are suffering. We have to be close to their suffering.
