In his Wednesday General Audience, Pope Francis began a new cycle of catechesis on the theme of \u201cThe Spirit and the Bride.\u201d The latter being understood as the Church.
The Pope quoted St. Francis of Assisi as an example of someone who demonstrates a path of contemplation coming from the Holy Spirit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
SUMMARY OF THE POPE'S CATECHESIS IN ENGLISH:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Dear brothers and sisters,<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n T<\/em>oday we begin a new series of catecheses on \u201cThe Spirit and the Bride,\u201d focusing on how the Holy Spirit guides God\u2019s people throughout salvation history. From the very beginning, the Spirit of God is at work, bringing order and beauty out of chaos. This ongoing transformation is fully realized in Jesus Christ. Saint Paul tells us that \u201ccreation has been groaning in travail,\u201d a reality that remains true, and emphasizes our need to address both our internal and external chaos. In light of this, Saint Francis of Assisi offers contemplation and praise as a remedy and demonstrates how to embrace creation freely. Let us then invite the Spirit of God into our lives, to transform our hearts and heal our world: \u201cCome Holy Spirit, Creator come, enlighten our minds and fill with heavenly grace the hearts you have created.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n I extend a warm welcome to the English-speaking pilgrims and visitors taking part in today\u2019s Audience, especially the groups from England, the Netherlands, Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore, Korea, Thailand, and the United States of America.
