During his weekly catechesis, Pope Francis spoke of the Holy Spirit as \u201ccomposer\u201d of a \u201csymphony of prayer\u201d that has been given to the Church: the Psalms. He said the Psalms \u201chave been the prayer of Jesus, Mary and the Apostles and of all Christians who have preceded us.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
SUMMARY OF POPE FRANCIS' CATECHESIS IN ENGLISH:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Today we continue our catechesis on the Holy Spirit, who teaches the Church, as the Bride of Christ, how to pray. For our symphony of prayer in preparation for the upcoming Jubilee, we turn to the poetry of the Psalms, just as that great \u201corchestra\u201d, the communion of saints, has done since the Church\u2019s earliest days. The Psalms express every movement of this symphony and echo every sentiment of our hearts in words that often convey wonder, grief, and hope. The more frequently we repeat these inspired prayers, the stronger and more effective they become.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n May the Holy Spirit enrich our prayer with this gift, and in so doing, empower us to give voice to all creation, involving it in our praise.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n I extend a cordial welcome to the English-speaking pilgrims and visitors taking part in today\u2019s Audience, especially the groups from Australia, India, Indonesia, the Philippines, South Africa, South Korea, Sweden, Taiwan, Tanzania, the United Kingdom, the United States of America and Vietnam.
