The Vatican doctrinal office has declared the excommunication of the former nuncio to the United States, Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigan\u00f2. The office has also found him guilty of schism because of his public statements saying he does not recognize the authority of the Pope or the Second Vatican Council.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the end of June, Vigan\u00f2 expressed his opinion on the process that he was being subjected to by the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
