The Pope continued his preaching on the Holy Spirit. On this occasion he reflected on the relationship between the third person of the Holy Trinity and evangelization. One of the points he highlighted is that of \"being attentive not to preach ourselves but Jesus\".<\/p>\n\n\n\n
SUMMARY OF THE POPE'S CATECHESIS IN ENGLISH:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Dear brothers and sisters:<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n In our continuing catechesis on the Holy Spirit, we now consider the Spirit\u2019s role in the Church\u2019s mission of evangelization. The First Letter of Peter describes the Apostles as those who \u201cpreached the Gospel through the Holy Spirit\u201d (cf. 1 Pet 1:12). The Gospel, of course, is the joyful message of the coming of God\u2019s kingdom announced by Jesus and confirmed by the Apostles\u2019 preaching of his dying and rising to new life. This \u201cgood news\u201d is the basis for all further catechesis and teaching, including the moral demands of Christian discipleship.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n The preaching of the Gospel takes place \u201cthrough the Holy Spirit\u201d, who enables us to speak with conviction and to reflect the message that we preach by the way that we live. Let us pray that in our own day the Spirit will raise up ever more joyful, holy and convincing witnesses to the Risen Lord and the saving truth of his Gospel.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n I extend a warm welcome to the English-speaking pilgrims and visitors taking part in today\u2019s Audience, especially those coming from the Netherlands, Australia, Japan, Singapore and the United States of America.
