The Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith has pronounced itself on the writings of an Italian, Maria Valtorta, who died in 1961. Her work, especially \u201cThe Gospel as it has been revealed to me\u201d, contains alleged divine revelations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The department, headed by Cardinal V\u00edctor Manuel Fern\u00e1ndez, has pointed out in a statement that the alleged visions narrated<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cCannot be considered of supernatural origin, but simply literary forms used by the author to narrate, in her own way, the life of Jesus Christ.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Also, it is recalled that the Church<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cDoes not accept as normative the apocryphal gospels or other similar texts because it does not recognize that they were inspired.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n But this is nothing new.
