Since laying Pope Francis' casket in state, the faithful have lined up along the walls of the Basilica in order to say their final goodbyes to the Argentinian Pope.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Typically standing for several hours in order to pay their respects, some of the faithful recounted what they felt in the atmosphere of the St. Peter's Square while they waited.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
FRIAR THOMAS Once inside the Basilica, the feeling of peace did not subside from the crowd. I expected a lot of people, but I didn't expect the people to be so calm and with dignity and prayer. The people I saw were really grateful to be here.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The feeling was calm inside (the Basilica), it's peaceful. I feel honored to be here today, on such a momentous occasion. It was just a nice experience to be around everyone from different parts of the world and joining together in a moment of peace.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

There were beautiful moments. Like when somebody was almost fainted and so many people helped - the service was amazing and they were there in no time\u2026 total strangers giving each other water and people trying to give shade with umbrella's to each other.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
