The Camerlengo, Cardinal Kevin Farrell, presided over the rite.<br>Following established tradition, a document recounting the life and works of the deceased\u2014signed by some of those present\u2014was read aloud and placed inside a metal tube, which was then inserted into the casket.<br>The Pope\u2019s face was covered with a white silk veil, and a pouch containing coins minted during his pontificate was also placed inside the casket.<br>His closest collaborators were present during the ceremony.
