Now, Australia has joined the list. Its Prime Minister, Anthony Albanese, had a private meeting with the Pope, proposed a very specific date for him to visit.
He invited Pope Leo XIV to travel to Sydney in 2028. The reason: to take part in the International Eucharistic Congress\u2014an event Australia will host, commemorating 100 years since it first gathering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sydney's Archbishop, Anthony Fisher, also hopes that Pope Leo XIV will travel to the city.
In his statement to Australian media, he said that the Pope\u2019s presence would be a powerful catalyst for evangelization and the reaffirmation of faith throughout the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A few months ago, in an interview with this outlet, Fisher already spoke about what he believes will be one of the main challenges of the Eucharistic Congress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
