He received the Crown Prince of Bahrain, who is also the country\u2019s Prime Minister. Salman Al Khalifa conveyed to the Pope his concern about the situation in the Middle East.<br><br>According to the Kingdom of Bahrain, this state visit to the Vatican aims to strengthen the historical ties between the two countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the end of their meeting, the Prince of Bahrain gave the Pope a golden palm tree inlaid with pearls\u2014one of the most characteristic symbols of that region. He also gave the pontiff a book showcasing the country\u2019s diversity and craftsmanship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Another meeting Pope Leo held was with the President of Guinea-Bissau. Among the gifts he presented to the Pope was a traditional cloth from the country.
